Slinger Signaller Course Duration
1 Day FAS CSCS Slinger / Signaller Assessment (typically 8.30am to 4.30pm)
Location
This 1 day assessment is available on-site on your premises anywhere in the Republic of Ireland subject to minimum numbers. A suitable room would be required for on-site training for the theory section of the course, and a crane is needed for the practical. The Certificate of Thorough Examination for the crane must be in date.
The 1 Day FAS CSCS Slinger / Signaller/ Banksman assessment course is also available at our Training Centre in Ashbourne, Co. Meath.
Slinger Signaller Certification
On successful completion of this FAS CSCS Slinger Signaller Assessment you will be issued with a FETAC Certificate and FAS CSCS Slinger Signaller card.
Slinger Signaller Course Description
The Programme will consist of a combination of classroom sessions of underpinning knowledge relating to Slinger / Signaller operations, and slinging and signalling practical work.

- Responsibilities of the Slinger / Signaller
- Slinging and signalling procedures
- Hand signals for lifting operations
- Lifting gear inspection and storage
- Choosing correct lifting gear
- Assessing loads
- Securing and balancing loads
- Use of tag ropes in lifting operations
- Hazards associated with blind lifting
Trainee Requirements
Candidates must be over 18 and may attend the Slinger Signaller Assessment by a choice of 2 routes:
Candidates who have no experience of Slinging and Signalling must complete the 3 day New Entrant Slinger Signaller course before attending the FAS CSCS Assessment (listed on our Course List).
Experienced Slinger Signallers who have not attended the 3 day New Entrant programme may present for the Slinger Signaller Assessment subject to filling out the required Self Assessment / Declaration paperwok and satisfying the relevant criteria. Please contact our office for further information
All candidates must hold a current FAS Safe Pass Registration Card.
PPE Requirements
Trainees must have the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment with them i.e. Helmet, Safety Boots, Hi-Viz Vest.
Who Should Attend?
This FAS CSCS Slinger Signaller Assessment is suitable for anyone who wishes to achieve the CSCS Slinger Signaller card (ticket) which is required for those working as a banksman on construction sites. Also candidates who wish to operate cranes must hold a current Slinger Signaller FAS CSCS card before applying for Crane New Entrant Training or Crane Assessments.
