IPAF 3a/3b/1b MEWP Operator. \nDuration\n1 day typically from 8.30am to 4.30pm. \nWhat type of MEWPs are covered under Height for Hire MEWP Training?\nMEWP is an overall name for powered access platforms which can refer to any type of Mobile Elevating Work Platform / Cherry Picker. Our standard MEWP operator course covers Scissor Lift and Self Propelled Boom\, harness training is also included on this 1 day course. Candidates attending the Height for Hire course can choose from the following MEWP categories Scissor Lift\, Self Propelled Boom\, Vehicle Mounted platforms and Spider Type booms. The candidate must carry out a practical test on each category they wish to appear on their Certificate of Training and Operator card. Harness training can be carried out on the same day as a Height for Hire MEWP course. \nExtra categories\nOur standard MEWP operator course covers Scissor Lift and Self Propelled Boom. Additional MEWP categories can be done on the same training day subject to notice and availability of machines eg Vehicle Mounted or Spider Type Booms \nLocation\nThis one day MEWP Operator course is available from any of our training centres:  Dublin\, Cork\, Belfast\, Portlaoise\, Limerick. \nOn-site training\nOn-site training on your premises is also available anywhere in Ireland subject to minimum numbers and having the MEWPs available on site. DESCRIPTION:IPAF 3a / 3b / 1b MEWP Training\n\n\nIPAF 3a / 3b / 1b MEWP Training\nIPAF MEWP training is strongly recommended for MEWP operators working in the UK and NI\, and may be required on some ROI construction sites.\nOur Height for Hire Operator Training course on MEWPs and Harness is an alternative MEWP course suitable for MEWP operators working in Republic of Ireland. \nDuration\n1 day typically from 8.30am to 4.30pm. \nWhat type of MEWPs are covered under IPAF 3a\, 3b and 1b Operator Training?\nMEWP is an overall name for powered access platforms which can refer to any type of Mobile Elevating Work Platform / Cherry Picker. The IPAF 3a Operator category covers the safe use of Mobile Vertical machines generally called Scissor Lifts. The IPAF 3b Operator category covers the safe use of Mobile Boom machines which are self-propelled booms and may be articulated or telescopic booms and can be driven at height. The IPAF 1b Operator category covers Static Boom machines which are generally fitted with outriggers and cannot be driven while elevated. 1b Static Boom is an overall category name which includes Van-mounted booms\, Truck-mounted booms\, Trailer-mounted booms or Spider booms on tracks or wheels. \nExtra categories \nUp to three IPAF MEWP categories can be done on the same training day subject to notice and availability of machines eg 3a Mobile Vertical (Scissor Lift)\, 3b Mobile Boom and 1b Static Boom \nLocation\nThis one day MEWP course on 3a\, 3b and 1b IPAF Operator categories is available from any of our training centres: Dublin\, Cork\, Portlaoise\, Limerick\, Belfast\, Manchester\, London\, Glasgow\, Newcastle\, Midlands / Banbury \nOn-site training\nOn-site training on your premises is also available anywhere in Ireland and UK subject to minimum numbers and having the MEWPs available on site. A suitable room would be required for on-site training for the theory section of the course\, and a Scissor Lift / Mobile Vertical and Mobile Boom and Static Boom would be needed for the practical test\, if candidates need all three IPAF categories on their PAL card. The MEWP Operator’s Manual and a copy of the current 6 monthly Certificate of Thorough Examination for each MEWP is required. \nCertification\nSuccessful delegates will receive a 3a\, 3b and 1b IPAF PAL Card valid for 5 years and an IPAF Certificate of Training for the 3a Mobile Vertical\, 3b Mobile Boom and 1b Static Boom categories.
