DESCRIPTION:IPAF 3a / 3b / 1b / 1a MEWP Training\nIPAF MEWP training is strongly recommended for MEWP operators working in the UK and NI and may be required on some ROI construction sites. \nDuration \n\nClassroom\n\n1 day typically from 8.30am to 4.30pm – Classroom Theory with an instructor followed by practical training \n\nPractical\n\nCandidates complete IPAF theory online (at home or work) & then complete practical’s in our depot\, practical training vary depending on MEWPs required for training. \nWhat type of MEWPs are covered under IPAF 3a\, 3b \,1b 1a Operator Training?\nMEWP is an overall name for powered access platforms which can refer to any type of Mobile Elevating Work Platform. The IPAF 3a Operator category covers the safe use of Mobile Vertical machines generally called Scissor Lifts. The IPAF 3b Operator category covers the safe use of Mobile Boom machines which are self-propelled booms and may be articulated or telescopic booms and can be driven at height. The IPAF 1b Operator category covers Static Boom machines which are generally fitted with outriggers and cannot be driven while elevated. 1b Static Boom is an overall category name which includes Van-mounted booms\, Truck-mounted booms\, Trailer-mounted booms or Spider booms on tracks or wheels. \nExtra categories \nUp to four IPAF MEWP categories can be done on the same training day subject to notice and availability of machines eg 3a Mobile Vertical (Scissor Lift)\, 3b Mobile Boom\, 1b Static Boom & 1a Static Vertical \nLocation: \nAvailable from any of our training centres: Dublin\, Cork*\, Portlaoise*\, Limerick*\, Belfast\, Manchester*\, London*\, Glasgow*\, Newcastle*\, Midlands / Banbury*                                                  * Training centres currently closed for training due to covid restrictions \nOn-site training\nOn-site training on your premises is also available anywhere in Ireland and UK subject to minimum numbers and having the MEWPs available on site. A suitable room would be required for on-site training for the theory section of the course\, and a Scissor Lift / Mobile Vertical and Mobile Boom and Static Boom would be needed for the practical test\, if candidates need all three IPAF categories on their PAL card. The MEWP Operator’s Manual and a copy of the current 6 monthly Certificate of Thorough Examination for each MEWP is required. \nCertification\nSuccessful delegates will receive an IPAF ePAL Card valid for 5 years and an IPAF Certificate of Training for categories trained. Photographs for the operator card are taken on site and included in the price. Candidates will need to download the free ePAL IPAF app in order to receive their digital cards & certs. They must be medically fit to operate machinery. \nPPE Requirements\nTrainees must have the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment with them to operate the MEWPs i.e. Helmet\, Safety Boots\, Hi-Visibility Vest\, Harness & Adjustable Restraint Lanyard. \nWho Should Attend?\nThe MEWP IPAF Operator training course is suitable for anyone who operates different types of MEWPs whether they are Scissor Lifts (Mobile Vertical lifts)\, Self-Propelled Telescopic booms or Articulating booms (Mobile booms).
