Height for Hire Operator Training on MEWPs and Harness is suitable for MEWP operators working in Republic of Ireland.
IPAF MEWP training is strongly recommended for MEWP operators working in the UK and NI, and may be required on some ROI construction sites. IPAF 3a/3b/1b MEWP Operator.

Duration
1 day typically from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

What type of MEWPs are covered under Height for Hire MEWP Training?
MEWP is an overall name for powered access platforms which can refer to any type of Mobile Elevating Work Platform / Cherry Picker. Our standard MEWP operator course covers Scissor Lift and Self Propelled Boom, harness training is also included on this 1 day course. Candidates attending the Height for Hire course can choose from the following MEWP categories Scissor Lift, Self Propelled Boom, Vehicle Mounted platforms and Spider Type booms. The candidate must carry out a practical test on each category they wish to appear on their Certificate of Training and Operator card. Harness training can be carried out on the same day as a Height for Hire MEWP course.

Extra categories
Our standard MEWP operator course covers Scissor Lift and Self Propelled Boom. Additional MEWP categories can be done on the same training day subject to notice and availability of machines eg Vehicle Mounted or Spider Type Booms

Location
This one day MEWP Operator course is available from any of our training centres:  Dublin, Cork, Belfast, Portlaoise, Limerick.

On-site training
On-site training on your premises is also available anywhere in Ireland subject to minimum numbers and having the MEWPs available on site. A suitable room would be required for on-site training for the theory section of the course, and the relevant MEWPs categories would be needed for the practical test, depending on which candidates they candidates wish to have on their card. The MEWP Operator’s Manual and a copy of the current 6 monthly Certificate of Thorough Examination for each MEWP is required.

Certification
Successful delegates will receive a Height for Hire Certificate of Training and Operator card valid for 5 years for whichever categories the candidates have successfully completed a practical test. A Height for Hire safety booklet will be given to each delegate on the day of training. Photographs for the operator card are taken on site and included in the price.

Trainee Requirements
Candidates for MEWP courses must be at least 16 years of age. They must be medically fit to operate machinery.

PPE Requirements
Trainees must have the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment with them to operate the MEWPs i.e. Helmet, Safety Boots, Hi-Visibility Vest, Harness & Adjustable Restraint Lanyard.

This Height for Hire MEWP IPAF Operator training course is suitable for anyone who operates different types of MEWPs whether they are Scissor Lifts (Mobile Vertical lifts), Self-Propelled Telescopic booms or Articulating booms (Mobile booms). It is also suitable for users of Static Booms with outriggers including Spider booms on tracks or wheels, Van-mounted booms, Truck-mounted booms or Trailer-mounted booms.

Course Objectives
To provide delegates with the essential knowledge required to operate various types of MEWPs under Scissor Lift, Self Propelled Boom, Vehicle Mounted Platforms or Spider Type Boom categories efficiently and safely.

Training Methods
Presentation with slides, video, printed course material, demonstration, practical use.
